Global Education Committee and Global Learning invite applications for faculty- and staff-led, short-term study away programs for AY 2019-20.  The online application process will open 20 December 2018 and will close 15 January 2019 for Fall Exploration programs and 15 February 2019 for Spring Exploration and May/summer programs.  If you have questions regarding the online application process or experience difficulties, please contact Darin Stromstad (stromsta@cord.edu or 218-299-3083).

For AY 2019-20, Global Education Committee and Global Learning have changed leadership requirements and options for international programs as well as the meal plan for May/summer programs.  Please see the policy link above for further information.  For AY 2020-21, faculty and staff can expect further changes in short-term program formats and policies following a decision this semester by Global Education Committee to form a summer working group to undertake comprehensive review and revision of the college’s system of short-term study away.  This GEC group will complete its work in September and recommend changes in response to the next strategic plan of the college and the outcomes of the Global Learning program review next semester.  To prevent holdups in the Global Education Committee and to encourage strong enrollments and transformative learning, Study Away staff are available to consult with faculty and staff as they imagine and prepare proposals for AY 2019-20.  The approval process for proposals will include one required policy and practice overview meeting during the application process.  This meeting will be scheduled at the convenience of faculty and staff by Global Learning.

If you have questions about changes and opportunities in study away at Concordia, please contact Per Anderson (anderson@cord.edu) for information or to schedule a conversation.
